How to Get Rid of Pimples with Home Remedies

Even if you are not an acne sufferer, you can experience surprise breakouts during the summer because of heat, perspiration and sun exposure. Because so much summer living takes place on the go, you may not have acne medication with you when a breakout occurs if you are camping, hanging out the beach or spending an unexpected weekend at a friend's house.

Don't let a few pimples ruin your good time - there are several home remedies you can use to get rid of surprise pimples, even if you don't have your bag of toiletries:

  • Put a dab of toothpaste on the pimple, leave it on for a half hour and rinse off with warm water - you may feel a bit of tingling, which means it is working on drying out the pimple.
  • Calamine lotion is great for poison ivy, but did you know that applying a dab to an unexpected acne flareup can help dry it out right away?
  • Summer foods such as lemons and tomatoes can be used to quickly clear up acne. Cut the lemon or tomato in half and rub it on the affected areas of your skin. Leave the residue on for a half hour and then rinse with warm water.
  • To avoid additional breakouts, cleanse and exfoliate your skin with baking soda. Simply put soap and baking soda in the palms of your hands, rub them together and wash your face with warm water to reveal smoother skin. You can even make a paste from baking soda and water and apply it to pimples to dry them out. When the baking soda paste dries in a about a half hour, simply rinse it off with hot water and your pimples will be reduced.

If an unexpected acne flareup is ready to ruin your summer fun, remember there are plenty of everyday home remedies you can use on the go to get rid of pimples so you can keep on having a great time.
