How to Get Rid of Dry Skin During the Summer

Although we make our best efforts to apply sunscreen and moisturize, we still may suffer from dry skin spots during the summer. Swimming in pools, exposure to the sun and perspiration can all contribute to dry skin.

Consider the following do's and don't's that are focused on how to get rid of dry skin:

DO exfoliate your skin regularly to remove dead skin cells and reveal smoother, softer skin.

DON'T use hot water when you wash your face because it can strip your skin of essential natural oils - use warm water instead.

DO moisturize your skin with a facial moisturizer and body cream at least once a day or more frequently if your skin is dry.

DON'T use dull razor blades that can make your skin drier by damaging skin cells.

DO use a moisturizer infused with aloe after exposure to the sun because it will help to replenish the moisture in your skin while soothing it.

DON'T scrub your face when you wash it because this can cause your skin to become dry and irritated.

If you have dry spots, you can try a few drops of olive oil to get rid of them. Simply apply olive oil to the affected areas before bed and leave it on overnight to see a noticeable difference in the morning.

With a little extra care, you can get rid of dry skin, and have healthy skin to show off all summer long.
